The 2010 heavy-duty emission standards for North America are: 0.2g/HP-hr NOx and 0.01 g/HP-hr Particulate Matter (PM). This is a reduction of emissions by 98% since the late 1980’s.

Cummins will meet the 2010 emissions standards with the addition of Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) aftertreatment using Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology. SCR technology uses a urea based chemical called diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) and a catalytic converter to significantly reduce oxides of nitrogen (NOx) emissions.

This Saturday was a great day for the SWANA International Road-e-o. There were some amazing drivers from all over the country that came to show their stuff and really knew how to handle some heavy-duty trucks!

It didn't take too long before we discovered that everyone wanted an RDK model truck!

There were some awesome front loaders (RDK style of course!)

The biggest winner of the day was Mark Beery from the City of Clearwater for the Front Loader class as well as the Top Gun Award Winner for winning the most points in every class of competition! We're happy to report he was driving RDK trucks during the competition!

This really comes as no surprise. As an employee of the City of Clearwater since 1995, Mark Beery has been in 10 state Road-e-o's since 2000, winning 5 first place awards, 4 second place awards, 1 third place award and one other Top Gun award. He's also competed in 5 International Road-e-o's winning 1 first place award, 1 second place award and 2 Top Gun awards! Mark has clearly established himself as one of the best drivers in the country, and it's always great getting the opportunity to watch him compete.

In his spare time, Mark enjoys fishing, boating and most of all, loves spending time with his wife and four children.

The awards ceremony provided a good time for all. Everyone did a fantastic job - there were some really impressive and talented drivers out there and we were happy to be such a big part of this annual event!
