Brake System Inspection Readiness
Brake defects remain the single largest cause of commercial vehicles placed out of service in North America, and refuse trucks carry materially higher risk than highway equipment. This bulletin covers the current CVSA out-of-service criteria, the five defects RDK finds most often in refuse fleets, and a 90-second yard check drivers can run before every shift.
-
ECU / ECM Software Update — DEF Derate Change
Most trucks coming through RDK's shop are running outdated engine and aftertreatment calibrations. Updated manufacturer software can raise the final DEF derate speed from 5 mph to 25 mph and reduce false fault codes — find out which engines and model years qualify.

Refuse Body Holiday Readiness
Household waste volume jumps roughly 25% between Thanksgiving and New Year's, and the refuse body — not the chassis — is what's most likely to take a truck off the route during that surge. This bulletin covers the pre-holiday body inspection and the daily habits that keep packer bodies, hydraulics, and hoists running through January.
